Windows 7 Releases October 22nd 2009
This morning was the first time I heard an official release date for Windows 7. I’ve been running Windows 7 betas for the past 3 months and it has been far more stable and responsive than Vista was for me. I will definitely be upgrading this one on release day! I have just put in my pre-order at Amazon. I’ll be going with the Ultimate version ($219) since I have a media center PC and I want all the bells and whistles. Really, this is the first time EVER I’ve been excited for a Microsoft launch. Crazy.

A new version of windows!! Great news! the best part is that its available at 50% discount. But before placing an order i need to know about its specialty. As i also have been facing a little problem with the windows vista, am also looking forward to this new version but i would like know reviews before i buy one.Let me dig more about
Windows new version, this is one great news, I will certainly get this one, I have to downgrade my vista to XP again due to some problem I have encountered with it even I have upgraded my PC more than what it requires, I am hoping that Windows 7 will work best.
That’s a very good news. But i really want to know if this is better than vista. I already using vista on my desktop, if this one turns out to be better. I will change to Windows 7. Thanks for the article.
I’ve been waiting for windows 7 to get launched. I’m presently using vista and its comfortable for me..But have heard a lot about the upcoming windows 7, and i’m so excited to use it. Now hearing this news that it’ll be launched on 22nd Oct,my excitement has increased.. Is that true what Sachin said above, that it is available at 50% discount??? If its true, i’ll getting it as soon as it get launched..
Honestly, I’m no longer as excited about it as a few months ago. There might be nothing new in there so why change? Also, I think it will be better than Vista because that OS is just not good.
I am looking forward to Windows 7 as well. I will probably wait a few months to let them work out all the bugs. However, I waited for a year before I bought Vista and never had any of the same problems that others were having who bought it early. Also, I love the media center. I use Vista with the media center now and find it much better than a Tivo.
What improvements have been made over Vista? I just finally got Vista running like I want on my laptop and am skeptical to make the change to a new version so soon.
Wow. I m too waiting for it, But i m not getting why these branded Lappy’s such as Dell,Sony,HP are promising to upgrade their Vista O.S. to Windows 7, where Seven has not released yet ! were they promising of Beta version, If yes then forget it..because beta version has many garbages and not yet best in performance.
Let’s see what Original version performs..lol..
sounds like they got it right this time. it’s kind of sad when we’re hanging it for a working version of what they dished up 2 years ago.
It’s the same Vista kernel, with a dialed-down superfetch and some memory-saving features, nothing to fuss about. Ah, and a new driver model – some ati cards are already seeing a 2-3% performance increase because of that.
I can hardly wait to try windows 7 finally, but i bet i won’t get any drivers for my notebook
So i probably have to wait much longer… hopefully it will run much better than vista!
I would really like to know from you what features you like of windows 7 over XP. I am a big fan of XP and I never made the move to vista and have helped a lot of people go back to XP from Vista. If you could list like 5 advantages Windows 7 has over XP would be good.
good choice. i am using vista for past 3 years. and using windows 7 for few months. though i do not see much change in the core. Windows 7 dressed well when compared to vista except few additional enhancements
I can’t wait for windows 7, I am so over vista…it is such a hog…the day I stop using it will be a good day!
I’ve had no stability issues with Vista whatsoever! I won’t be upgrading unless it’s free. It’ll be a long time until they discontinue support for Vista, and the devil you know is better than the one you don’t.
I cant wait, i have also a mac at home which i upgraded to snow leopard and its brilliant. lets see if the new windows will be better.
We’ve had Windows 7 deployed to a few test machines in my company and I can honestly say it’s far and away better than Vista (I’m a Linux man but, hey…). There are a few very minor bugs with drivers but for a product that is still RC it’s a good tool. I’m not sure how MS will do with this version – even though it’s a more than capable desktop OS we’re in the middle of a serious recession right now and I can’t see many people rushing out to buy a copy just because ‘it’s better than Vista’!
I’m hearing a lot of good reports about Windows 7, and the fact you’re confident to shell out $219 on release says to me that you must be really happy with the Beta versions. I missed out Vista so will upgrade to this Windows 7 myself. The Home Premium at around $120 should be enough for me though – I might even put the difference towards a nice solid state drive.
I’ve been using the Windows 7 now and proud to say that i am happy with it. For now, I don’t have any problem with the OS yet. I will recommend this one to those who did not tried it yet.
I cant wait for windows 7 to come out, I have been waiting for this for ages, I have heard its very similair to Vista but not as annoying, so thats got to be a good sign.
Some say that Windows 7 is much lighter than Vista. I am using it now and it’s very nice. Just like a combination of MAC and Vista.
I love windows 7 and I was very happy with winxp, so the switch to me was not worth it since I don’t like new things. The only gripe I have is that I really wished they improved the permissions settings on files because I always get that stupid popup. I also have trouble installing new programs because the system won’t install certain files because windows keeps thinking it’s not authorized to write to my hard drive (very annoying).
Aside from those two problems above, I’m very happy with Windows 7.
Windows products are very good ones for my notebook. So I will support the new staff like the past!
OK,i can say good bye to XP few days later.i dont like the vista at all.So im happy to hear the date of Windows 7 Releases.
I am looking forward to Windows 7 as well.i will definitely going to use this. Thanks!
To be honest,I use XP now because vista is very unsatisfactory…I heart windows 7 is much better than vista…So maybe I can try windows 7 now…
I have use a win7 beta version, It’s fast and beautiful!
I will recommend Windows 7 to all because i used it already and it’s nice. Very nice
Okay i will try this OS. As what i have read from the comment, i am convinced that Windows 7 is great.
I’ve been using windows 7 now for a week and love it, never liked vista, went back to xp after about a month of using it. But I would definitely go straight to windows 7 now.
thanks for the information well i have been using windows 7 now its good, windows operating system is very compatible.keep posting.
Great… Microsoft must be the only company in the world who get away with selling a half finished product to their customers.
I’ll possibly think about buying Windows 7 in about a year or so when everyone else has finished beta testing it!
It seems that I have to shell out 22 USD for shipping the latest version to my country. I got an offer of free upgrade to windows 7 when I bought a new laptop with Vista pre loaded. I thought it would be an online update for free. But now I have to pay some bucks for it. However, I am pretty excited to check out the latest offering from windows.
It’s a great windows new version. I have upgraded my computer from windows xp to win7. I don’t like vista and windows 7 will be useful for me for a long times.
Windows 7 is so cool. For now, don’t have any issues yet about it.
I don’t know if it was legal or not but I got one for $30. $30 was price for college students with .edu email address. And my friend helped me to get this.
I think it would have been great if you had posted about this also.
It’s amazing how successful the launch has been. Now all we have to do is sit back and see if it will be plagued with problems like Vista.
I must say i’ve been waiting for 7 since a week after i got my laptop that came preloaded with windows vista. I’ve been running the betas and RC1 since they were released. I’m running the ultimate version now and i must saw the windows community has something to look forward too.
I have been working with Windows for years, can’t wait to use the new windon version, it makes my life easier and easier! My husband mentioned that this will be our New Year’s gift!
I received a Windows 7 Launch Party kit but when my friends showed up none of them were really interested in Windows 7 actually.. too bad as it’s very impressive. I really want to get a Level 10 (Thermaltake) case and soup it up for my Windows 7 experience. However I’m not sure I can see spending $1k just on a case, it’s more than a normal computer.
Eric
This new operating system is terrific. I was on the verge of buying an Apple Computer because of Vista. Windows 7 is like a bullet train compared to Vista. Even though Vista and Windows 7 do have similarities such as interface, Windows 7 does what Vista was suppose to do. Connecting to other networks and devices such as printers is now simple. If doing a clean install, Windows 7 will search the net for the original drivers, so there is no need to go hunting for drivers and I think that is great. There is so much more to learn about Windows 7
Windows 7 is great! I think this is what Vista was supposed to be in the first place.
It’s been a good year for Microsoft. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was released along with the new Call of Duty Xbox360 and then the release of Windows 7.
I have been very satisfied with Windows 7. I felt like it is well designed and it runs very well on my MacBook. I have Snow Leopard and BootCamp is much better than before.
Im using it right now & simply love the new appearance provided by it..I’ve never used vista before but so far that i heard, win7 is less resource-hogging..better than vista
although too bad, there are some old programs that i cant install on this new windows
is good, but is closing every 2 hours from march 3.. but the last version don’t have this problem.
