New Theme

I know i have changed my theme a number of times in the past, but this is probably the first time I felt a reason to. I was thinking my site looked too red. I wanted something more green (pink crossed my mind, but only briefly!). That’s what I love about WordPress and the WordPress community. It’s so easy to change the look and feel of your blog in just 2 minutes and keep all your content intact.

I think this theme is good. Looks clean. However, I am not too sure if it’s a good idea to keep archives links on both sides. Archive links are the most redundant links and people rarely client there. You might want to switch to latest 10 posts, top 10 posts, featured posts, related posts kind of lists rather than lame archives.

Jeet, honestly, I didn’t eve look at the columns :D My last theme only had two columns, I didn’t notice that everything on the right here was duplicate content…

That being said, I will leave the archives. It’s been a couple of years now, but I used to use PayPerPost and it was a requirement that you put archives on each page. I don’t know if that is the case still, but at least it leaves each post at least two clicks away for the search engines.

@Dustin: I understand, you often need a third party to see these things. I am not much of a layout or design person but the similarities stood out.

I didn’t know of that requirement by payperpost, I have never used them anyway :)

I don’t see anything wrong with the sidebars. Though some of the things like blogcatalog widget can be moved to right side because your Archives will keep increasing. Have you tried wordle and other tagging widgets? Your current tags are not impressive. You may also want to change color of links on adsense so that it blends with other links on your blog.

Wow, everyone is an expert (and critic)! :D I updated the columns so they are no longer duplicated. To be honest, I don’t really tag many of my posts – only when I think about it. It’s not a bid deal to me. I don’t want to change my links on adsense, I think they are suppose to stand out just a bit more and be obvious links.

I’m fairly new here and I haven’t had the chance to see your last theme. But I think you have made the right choice with this theme. I like it so much that I downloaded the theme too. :D I would give it a try on our company blog with some modifications of course.
