iOS5 Install Unknown Error Occurred

While trying to install iOS5 today I kept getting an error message something to the effect of:

The iPhone “Dustin’s iPhone” could not be restored.
An unknown error occurred.

After 4 attempts I could see I was getting nowhere. So I clicked the Restore button. After doing a factory restore, iOS5 was installed. Everything seems to be working now.

Had the same issue. Â After installing some system updates and a reboot, the iOS 5 update worked just fine.

  I should have added that I installed every updated possible (Lion, iTunes), rebooted. Still had the same unknown error problem. Didn’t resolve until I told it to restore factory settings.

  Sorry about that. It used to only pick up posts mentioning Django. I think the switch to feedburner broke that. I’ll get it fixed. Thanks for letting me know.

now i cant even restore my ipod it says that it cant read all contents and i should restore it, but i cant even restore it, it keeps on saying that Ipod cant be restored unknown error occured..
