The former increasingly masquerades as faith in this world, but only the latter is genuine faith recognized by our Lord. We are to have 'childlike' faith in the person of God alone, not faith in ourselves, or faith in our faith. As Christ said, "I do always those things that please him" (John 8:29b). We are to have ‘childlike’ faith in the person of God alone, not faith in ourselves, or faith in our faith. As Christ said, “I do always those things that please him” (John 8:29b).
